Music Video Magazine Advert

You can see in our advert a background picture of a holiday place, which fits the theme of the song perfectly. We made sure we quoted the important factors to the song, such as the artist, release date and name of the song. To fit the stereotypical magazine advert we used a review quote from NME to help promote the song and show that people are in favour of the song.

The photo is mainly bright and we use a lot of bright colours to give that holiday feeling to show the happiness and joy of a holiday.

Our Music Video

For our music video we have re-enacted 'Holiday' by 'Dizzee Rascal', the genre of music is 'Dance/Grime'.

The original music video features Dizzee Rascal, with many extra people with him in a holiday spot where there is a swimming pool. There are a lot more women in the video then men, this could perhaps be to do with the fact that Dizzee wants to give off the image that girls are very attracted to them or show off his popularity to the public.

The video is very stereotypical of a lad's holiday, when men go on holiday they would want to look for women, a good time, good music, drinking and having a laugh... This video has all these elements. Our video is a contrast of this as there are very little amount of women in it and the video is more to do with famous holiday places and being happy.

Dizzee's video is focused to one location whereas our video is focused on more than one. We wanted to show off many holiday locations because people can relate to them a lot more, whereas Dizzee's video is not really a place in the world you can relate to without being there.

The pink glow in our video represents the feeling you get when you're on holiday (a constant feeling of excitement/happiness) compared to how you would normally feel at home, the first shot with Ali and his umbrella is meant to be an ironic shot of this feeling, due to the rain and gloomy feel to the background, Ali just wishes he could be on holiday as his body language and facial expression shows.

Music Video Ideas

Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song
One of the actors is sitting in a classroom taking notes whilst listening to the teacher. He falls asleep whilst taking the notes in the middle of the lesson. The camera zooms in on him and fades/wipes to a new frame and the song begins... The main actor starts singing and dancing... Another actor will be dancing with the main actor whilst the final one is playing the guitar in time with the song. At certain parts of the song such as the interlude where the crowd of singers are going "woo-hoo-hoo" all the actors could be dancing and lip syncing to this part, the dancing would be a set theme of celebratory to represent happiness. At the end of the video, the teacher finally wakes up the student from his dream and he casually walks out of the lesson. For the audio sequence, a green screen will be used for the video.

Plan B - She Said
An opening scene which would show a conversation between a boy and a girl arguing or breaking up (Anything negative that could happen in a relationship)... The girl then walks away and then the camera focuses on the boy looking mystified/surprised, he then puts his head down and starts singing the song... When the guitar kicks in he lifts his head and starts walking down a corridor and does actions which match the lyrics of the song. When the song goes into the first verse the argument comes back and the boy and girl lip sync to the songs lyrics with their correct parts. The rapper verse would then have another actor come into the video perhaps sitting down slouched or walking with his hands out and doing hand gestures that a lot of rappers do. When the instrumental part starts the argument begins again and then goes back to the main singer going down the corridor again. The song finishes with the man sitting down and holding his head in his hands.
